Diane Carlson, 82
Diane M. Carlson, 82, of New Prague, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Diane was born October 19, 1930, in Duluth, a daughter of Arthur and Edith (Lundquist) Hanson. She lived in Duluth until her teens, when she moved to Minneapolis. She was a graduate of Washburn High School in Minneapolis and attended the Minnesota School of Business. Diane married Gordon Carlson on February 11, 1950, at Mount Olivet Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. They moved to Eden Prairie after marriage, where they raised their family and lived there until 1992, when they moved to New Prague. Diane had worked as a librarian at the Hennepin County Library in Eden Prairie. She participated in Girl Scouts and the Methodist Women’s Society, but the biggest part of her life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband; three daughters Pamela (Mike) Wise, Omaha, NE, Joy (Rick) Daley, Apple Valley, and Candy (Dan) Dufek, Maple Grove; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother Edward “Pete” (Lynn) Hansen, Richfield; and sister-in-law Betty Hanson, Anoka.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings Richard Hanson and Geraldine Brooks.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 21, at 11 a.m., at Heritage United Methodist Church in New Prague, with the Rev. Judy McEachran officiating.
Interment will be held at a later date.
Visitation was held at the church one hour prior to the services.
Arrangements were with the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague.
