Doig will step down as NPHS principal
New Prague High School principal Tom Doig has asked for and received a five-year leave of absence in anticipation of his retirement. He will step down from his post on June 30. Doig negotiated an early retirement settlement similar to a package that was approved for six long-time teachers in the district, but for less money. The New Prague Area School Board approved the leave at its April 8 meeting. Teachers taking an early retirement include Addie Thietje, Dan Puls, Rita Sapp, Pete Kallal, Mark Shaughnessy and Terry Bissel. Read more in the April 11 edition of The New Prague Times.
