Donald Beuch, 61

Donald Walter Beuch, 61, of Lydia, died unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at the St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.

Don was born September 5, 1951, in Shakopee, a son of Walter and LaVerne (Kreuser) Beuch. His childhood years were spent growing up on the family farm in Lydia. A member of 4-H, he enjoyed showing animals. He graduated from Jordan High School in 1969. Don loved milking the cows, doing the daily chores and tending to the crops. From 1980-1986, he was the owner/operator of Beuch and Sons Dairy Farm, also spent 25 years working at K-Mart Distribution Center in Shakopee. Through the years, family activities were most important to him. He enjoyed the outdoors and taking care of his grapevines, apple trees and flowers. He cherished anything related to the old farm tractors, with a special love for Olivers. Don enjoyed listening to old time music and watching old westerns. He was one of the individuals responsible for the section called, "Looking Back" in the Jordan Independent. He was also instrumental with researching and creating the first historical book of Lydia, which is still in progress. Don served on the board of the Scott County Historical Society, Scott County Planning and Zoning, and the Spring Lake Township Board. He was a life-long member of the St. John the Baptist Church.

He is survived by children Mathew (Jennifer) Beuch, Waconia, Andrew (Laura) Beuch, Waconia, Gena Beuch, Lydia, and Jacob Beuch, Lydia; grandchildren Alexander, Aidan, Emily and Annika Beuch; siblings JoAnn Beuch, Lydia, Roger (Kris) Beuch, Jordan, Edward (Jan) Beuch, Prior Lake, and Francis (Colleen) Beuch, Lydia; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother Richard.

Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 11 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan, with Rev. Timothy Yanta presiding.

Interment was at St. Mary's of Marystown Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Don’s children Mathew, Andrew, Gena and Jacob, brother Edward, nephew Ben and niece Grace.

Visitation was held from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ballard- Sunder Funeral Home in Jordan, and one hour prior to the mass at the church.
