Dorothy Prochaska, 88

Dorothy Mary Prochaska, 88, of Montgomery, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at the Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague.

Dorothy was born January 28, 1924, in D e r r y n a n e Township, a daughter of Walter and Anna (Plonsky) Laban. She graduated from New Prague High School. Dorothy married Raymond Prochaska on October 16, 1948, at the St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Heidelberg. She was a homemaker and also worked seasonally at Green Giant. Dorothy enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking, cross stitching, gardening, canning and card playing.

She is survived by children Raenell (Harvey) Dorn, Eden Prairie, Gordy Prochaska (and special friend Ginny McEavoy), Montgomery, Rod Prochaska (and special friend Peggy Everson), Montgomery, Darlene (Steve) Walsh, Prior Lake, Marlene Prochaska, White Bear Lake, and Mike (Cathy) Prochaska, New Prague; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister Florence Simon, New Prague.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; great-granddaughter Ashley Prochaska; and siblings Edward, Leonard, Esther Trnka and Gert Gostomczik.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 3, at 10 a.m., at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Burial will be at St. Scholastica Cemetery in Heidelberg.

Visitation was held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery, and Thursday one hour prior to the services, also at the funeral home.
