Eagle View Open House is Sunday

Eagle View Elementary School in New Market will hold an Open House and Dedication ceremony Sunday, Nov. 12, from 1-4:30 p.m.

The new school is located at 25600 Nevada Ave., on the west side of New Market.

Doors will open at 1 p.m., with a short program at 1:30 p.m. People can tour the building from 2-4:30 p.m., with staff members available to answer questions.

After welcoming remarks, several people involved with the project will speak. They include Joan Anderson, building principal, Todd Christopherson of AMCON Construction Management, Jim Friedges, New Market mayor, Dan Carlson, school board chair and Jim Rouse, superintendent of schools. There will also be the performance of the Eagle View School Song by the fourth and fifth grade choir, directed by Rachel Hennen.

The New Prague High School band will also perform.

Students and staff moved into the building in mid-October, with the first day of classes at the school on Monday, Oct. 23.
