Early voting begins Friday, Sept. 23

Election officials in Minnesota will make absentee ballots available to voters beginning Friday, Sept. 23. These ballots are for the November 8, 2016, general election. 
State law has changed and voters no longer need to provide a reason to be allowed to vote via absentee ballot. 
Individuals may vote in person at their county elections office, or they may request an absentee ballot be provided to them via mail. To vote absentee, voters must be registered. Pre-registration continues until 20 days before the election (through October 19). 
 
Le Sueur County 
Voters residing in Le Sueur County may vote in person at the Auditor-Treasurer’s Office at the Courthouse in Le Center. If they don’t wish to travel to Le Center, they can fill out an absentee ballot application on-line at the county’s website, www.co.le-sueur.mn.us, or mail an application to Le Sueur County Elections, 88 South Park Ave, Le Center  MN  56057. Once the application has been received and verified, a ballot will be mailed to them. 
Hours for voting are Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Courthouse will also be open for voting on Saturday, Nov. 5, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and on Monday, Nov. 7, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Scott County
Voters residing in Scott County may vote in person at the Scott County Elections office in the Scott Count Government Center, Room GC102, in Shakopee. To obtain an absentee ballot, go online at the Scott County website (www.scottcountymn.gov) or mail an application to Scott County elections, 200 Fourth Ave. W, Shakopee, MN 55379-1220. 
Hours for voting in person at the Scott County Government Center are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Voting will also be open on the Saturday before the election (November 5) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7.

Rice County
Voters residing in Rice County can vote in person at the Rice County Auditor/Treasurer’s office at the County Courthouse in Faribault or the Northfield City Hall. To obtain an absentee ballot, go online to the Rice County web page (www.rice.co.mn.us). You can also mail an application to the Rice County Government Services Building, 320 Third St. NW, Faribault MN 55021
Hours for voting in person are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (until 5 p.m. at Northfield City Hall). Voting will also be open on the Saturday before the election (November 5) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 7.
