Edel's Meat Market is robbed; Reward offered

The Montgomery Police Department responded to a report of burglary at Edel's Meat Market on Monday morning, May 13, after business owner Kevin Odenthal arrived at work and discovered his shop had been broken into over the weekend. Police documented the condition of the store, located at 116 1st St. N, and took photographs of the shop and office, which were both in disarray from the burglary.

Odenthal reported that a laptop computer, some cash, checks and some bacon-wrapped chicken breasts were stolen from the establishment. In the 10 years he has been in business, Odenthal said this is his second break-in and third robbery in just the past three years or so, and he is understandably frustrated.

Of the items stolen, Odenthal is determined to get his laptop back and is offering a reward to anyone who comes forward with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the thief or thieves.

"You can stay anonymous," he said. "The main thing I'm looking for is the return of the laptop which can just be left behind the shop in a box for all I care. Please inform your sons and daughters to keep their eyes open. Any help would be greatly appreciated."

The case is currently under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Montgomery Police Department at 507-364-8000 or Edel's Meat Market at 507-364-7710.
