Edward Joseph Sirek, 76

Edward Joseph Sirek, 76, longtime resident of Lonsdale, died at his home on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005.

He was born on July 23, 1929, in Webster Township, to Frank and Mary (Tuma) Sirek. He attended the St. Patrick Country School and Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Lonsdale.

On September 10, 1957, Edward married Mary Jean Sticha at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus of Montgomery-Lonsdale. Edward loved to farm and also played euchre.

He is survived by his wife; children, Michael (Leslie) Sirek, Mary Ann (Don) Malecha, James (Kathy) Sirek, Thomas J. (Anita) Sirek, Julie Ethridge, Carol Lundquist and Paul (Tammy) Sirek; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents; and a great-granddaughter, Morgan.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lonsdale.

Pallbearers were his children and honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren.

Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday at White Funeral Home in Lonsdale.

Interment was at Calvary Cemetery in Lonsdale.
