Elaine Napper, 70

Elaine Napper, 70, of Montgomery, died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2007, at her home.

Elaine was born February 10, 1937, at Henderson, a daughter of Harold and Bernice (Grassenger) Deno. She graduated from Henderson High School and married Byron Napper on May 16, 1964, in Henderson. She worked as a teacher's assistant for Head Start in Montgomery and also worked for Green Giant in Montgomery. Elaine enjoyed bowling, family and friends, animals, traveling, reading and crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her husband; children Christine Napper (and Randy Smith, Montgomery, Kenneth (Joyce) Napper, Montgomery, Gregory Napper (and LuAnne Menden), Morristown, Valerie Napper (and Jeff Peterson), Le Sueur and Roger (Charlene) Napper, New Prague; three sisters Ruth (Elmer) Kukacka, Montgomery, Louise (Jerry) Ruthenbeck, Elko and Beverly (Gary) Hormann, Rosemount; two brothers, Anthony (Alice) Deno, Gaylord and Bill (Ginger) Deno, Henderson; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Frederick Deno; and one grandson.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 17, at 10 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church in Montgomery, with Rev. Robert Rendahl officiating.

Burial was at St. John's Cemetery in Arlington. Pallbearers were Jeff Peterson, Randy Smith, Bruce and Dale Kukacka and Curt and Paul Ruthenbeck. Honorary pallbearers were Mike McGovern and Curt Schultz.

Visitation was held Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
