Elko New Market delays decision on new employee

The Elko New Market City Council talked about the possibility of hiring a full-time public works employee at its Thursday, Jan. 25, meeting, deciding to table further discussion until its next meeting when it would have more information.

The council had talked about hiring an additional employee for public works had already been discussed and is part of the city's budget.

The city currently has one full-time public works employee, Marty Deutsch, three part-time employees and other groups to help with the maintenance of the community.
