Ellen Kodadek, 81
Ellen Kodadek, 81, of St. Louis Park, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, in St. Louis Park.
Ellen was born on July 28, 1931, in New Prague, a daughter of Albert and Dorothea (Meinke) Meyer. She attended New Prague schools and graduated from New Prague High School in 1949. She worked a short time at Cargill in Minneapolis. Ellen married Robert Kodadek on October 1, 1955, at the Lanesburg Lutheran Church Parsonage. The couple lived in the Twin Cities and she worked many years at the Park Nicollet Clinic in St. Louis Park. Ellen especially enjoyed spending time at her cabin on Woman Lake and sharing it with family and friends.
She is survived by daughters Sue Kodadek, West St. Paul, and Sandy (Scott) Anderson, Vadnais Heights; two grandchildren Kevin and Eric Anderson; sisters Lorna (Joe) Docken, Webster, and Elaine McGovern, Farmington; sisters-in-law Shirley Meyer, New Prague, and Hattie Jensen, New Prague; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and a brother Don. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 4, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New Prague, with the Rev. Erick Thompson officiating.
Interment was at the Czech National Cemetery in New Prague. Casket bearers were Eric Anderson, Kevin Anderson, Scott Anderson, Ken Meyer, Kevin Docken and Jerry Bohnsack.
