ENM City Council approves preliminary plat for Boulder Heights

The Elko New Market City Council unanimously approved at its Thursday, Feb. 23, meeting a resolution for a preliminary plat for Boulder Heights, a residential subdivision.

Renee Christianson, the city’s Economic Development Specialist, presented the information to the council. She explained that Luke and Warren Israelson of KJ Walk Inc., have applied for a rezoning of 50.7 acres for a Planned Unit Development (PUD) and preliminary plat approval of a 130 residential subdivision. The proposed development requires a PUD zoning because the developer is requesting variations from the city’s typical low density residential development standards. They include a minimum lot size of 8,400 square feet, a minimum lot width of 70 feet, structure setbacks of 25 feet from the front, 7 feet from the side, 20 feet on the side of a corner lot and 30 feet from the rear.

Other requirements include trees for the area with 80 trees already identified to be preserved and a wetland application that still has to be applied for.
