ENM Council to hold levy hearing Dec. 17

The Elko New Market City Council will discuss its proposed property tax levy and budget during a 6:30 p.m. workshop prior to its meeting tonight (Thursday, Dec. 17).

Topics for the workshop include the city's capital improvement plan, the preliminary levy of $1.7 million and its projected budgets for 2011 and 2012.

Based on the proposed levy and changes in market value, the average homeowner will have a 0.8 percent decrease for their city property taxes.
