Erma O’Regan, 98

Erma O’Regan, 98, of Prior Lake, formerly of Montgomery, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Keystone Communities of Prior Lake. Ermalinda was born on April 7, 1914, in Albany, a daughter of John and Theresia (Meier) Brinkmann. She graduated from Albany High School and went on to get her beautician’s license. Erma and her sister, Laura, opened Brinky’s Beauty Salon in Albany. The two sisters traveled extensively in the 1930’s, going to Cuba, San Francisco and down the St. Lawrence Seaway. In 1942, Erma married Tim O’Regan, who became a lieutenant in the U.S. Army during World War II. Later during the war, the family lived in South Carolina and in Utah. Following the war, they lived in Monticello and Belle Plaine, and then settled in Montgomery, where Tim was high school principal. The O’Regans later became “snowbirds” and went to Florida every winter, eventually settling at Ft. Myers as their winter home. Erma continued to go to Florida every winter until she was 89 years old. The O’Regans loved to travel and went to Europe several times, the Carribean, Egypt and Israel. After Tim’s death, Erma traveled to Medjugorje, Yugoslavia. At the time of her death, she lived at Keystone Community Assisted Living in Prior Lake. She is survived by seven children Mary (Larry) White, Terry, Pat, John (Judy), Suzanne (John) Siskoff, Deborah (Ron) Kahlenbeck, and Shelly (Bill) Forbord; 13 grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three sisters and one brother. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m., at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery. Burial was at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Savage. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m., Sunday at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery, with the American Legion Auxiliary prayer service held at 4:30 p.m. Visitation was also held Monday one hour prior to the services.
