Ernestine Evelyn McLaughlin, 95
Ernestine Evelyn McLaughlin, 95, of New Prague, died on Monday, March 7, 2005, at Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague.
She was born on September 9, 1909, n Gatesville, TX, to Ernest and Maryella (Chaffin) Brown. Ernestine was raised in Texas and lived at Duluth, Kalispell, MT, and New Prague. She attended Rice Institute in Texas where she got her bachelors degree and her Ph.D. from the University of Texas. She was employed as a clinical consulting psychologist. Ernestine also served as a Lt. Commander in the United States Public Health Service.
Ernestine married John Bowen.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Johnson, New Prague; one grandson, Michael (Laurie) Johnson, Duluth; one granddaughter, Sandy (Robb) Morris, New Prague; six great-grandchildren, Harmony Johnson, California, Joshua (Amber) Johnson, Duluth, Jacob Johnson, Norfolk, VA, Kathryn, Alexandra and Eric Morris, New Prague.
Ernestine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John, on November 24, 1959; son-in-law, Herbert Johnson; two brothers, Olen Edwin “Bo” Brown and Raymond Leonidas “Lee” Brown.
Funeral services were held at the Mala Strana Health Care Center Great Room in New Prague on Wednesday, March 9, at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Diane Goulson officiated.
Interment was at Walnut Springs, TX.
Visiting at Mala Strana Health Care Center followed the service.
