Erwin Steinhoff, 91

Erwin J. “Erv” Steinhoff, 91, of New Prague, died Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague.

Born February 14, 1915 in Helena Township, Erwin was a son of T. Ewald and Elizabeth (Wolf) Steinhoff. His father was a native of Germany. Erv attended St. Benedict Parochial School and was a lifelong resident of the Jordan/New Prague area. He married Erma Linda Weiers at St. John’s Church in Union Hill on July 10, 1946 Erv was a member of the Catholic Aid Association and was a field crew supervisor for Minnesota Valley Breeders Assn., continuing to work into his 80s.

He is survived by his wife; sons and daughters-in-law, James (Doris), Minnetonka, Glen (Shelly), Farmington; daughter and son-in-law, Jolene (Tom) Bell, Rogers; grandchildren, Robert, Cole and Corey Steinhoff and T.J. Bell; a sister, Marie Breimhorst, Jordan; and sister-in-law, Bette Steinhoff, Jordan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Norbert and Raymond; and sisters, Clara VonBank and Alma Pint-Nytes.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 30 at 10 a.m. at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague, with Rev. Kevin Clinton officiating. Interment was at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery, New Prague. Casketbearers were Tim Steinhoff, Harold VonBank, Earl Pint, Rick Steinhoff, Karen Kramer and Marlin Pint.

Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Bruzek Funeral Home in New Prague.
