Evangeline Wolf, 80

Evangeline Vangie Elizabeth Wolf, 80, of Jordan, died Saturday, June 5, 2010, while in the loving care of her family.

Vangie was born February 14, 1930, on the family farm in Victoria, a daughter of Raymond and Caroline (Welter) Williams. She attended grade school in Victoria. She loved school, and her fondness for reading books continued up until her illness this past year. She enjoyed fishing with her dad, learned how to crochet from her grandma and embroider from her mom. She graduated in 1948 from St. Benedict Catholic High School in St. Joseph. Vangie was a nanny for a short time, and also worked at the local bakery in Chaska. She married Cyril Wolf on Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1954, at St. Victoria Catholic Church, and she made all the pies, cakes and aprons for her wedding. Vangie and Cy settled in Jordan, and later she worked part time at Radermacher's Grocery Store in the deli department, and also spent time watching her grandchildren and some of the neighbor's children. She also loved to volunteer, especially with the Christian Mothers Society and St. John's Parish. Vangie loved to fish, cook, garden, play cards, and travel throughout the country with friends and family. She also enjoyed bowling, acquiring several high game and series titles.

She is survived by her husband; nine children Laurie Wolf (Bruce Hendrickson), Debra (Brian) Nielsen, Keith (Anne) Wolf, Kim Wolf, Mark (Jackie) Wolf, Wayne Wolf, Jay (Ann) Wolf, Brian (Lisa) Wolf and Eric (Wendy) Wolf; 14 grandchildren; siblings Marvin (Myrt) Williams, Lawrence (Elaine) Williams, Eileen Salden, Jerome (Darlene) Williams, Carol (Tom) Hennen, Dr. Gary (Mary) Williams and Ray (Candy) Williams.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Interment will be at St. John Calvary Cemetery in Jordan. Pallbearers are grandchildren Erik Nielsen, Tyler Nielsen, Alexandra Wolf, Matthew Wolf, Megan Wolf and Jonathan Wolf.
