Every vote counts!

Four years ago, voters in the U.S. learned the value of the saying, Every vote counts.
Vice President Al Gore outpolled George W. Bush on the popular vote, but because Bush won several key states, some by razor-thin margins, he prevailed in the Electoral College, a system set up more than 200 years ago that has worked more often than not.
Since then, people have seen many other instances where the a few votes may have made a difference. Two years ago, for example, Ray Cox of Northfield won his House seat representing Rice and Scott counties by less than 50 votes.
