Fall sports teams begin practice
New Prague High School's fall sports teams began practice for the 2004 season Monday.
Six teams are working out, preparing for the upcoming season. Three teams will see their first competition next week, as the girls swimming, tennis and volleyball teams will all be on the road for their first contests Thursday, Aug. 26.
The girls swimming team will open at Mankato East, the girls tennis team will play in the Glencoe-Silver Lake Invitational, and the volleyball team will be at Owatonna.
The tennis team will continue early-season action Saturday, Aug. 28, when they host the New Prague Invitational, then play at Jordan on Monday, Aug. 30, and at Chaska Tuesday, Aug. 31.
The volleyball team will be at Faribault Tuesday, Aug. 31.
On Wednesday, Sept. 1, the tennis team will host Mound-Westonka.
The boys and girls cross country teams and the football team begin play on Friday, Sept. 3. The cross country teams will run in a meet at St. Olaf College, and the football team will play at Waseca.
