Father Richard Roedel retiring after 50 years in the priesthood

Every day has been enjoyable.

Those are the words of Father Richard Roedel as he reflects on his retirement from the priesthood after more than 50 years. He will offer Masses this weekend, at 5 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at the Church of St. Thomas in St. Thomas and at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, July 19, at St. Scholastica in Heidelberg. After Sunday's service, the parishioners of the two churches will be holding a celebration of Father Roedel's retirement from 10:30 a.m. to noon at St. Scholastica.

Father Roedel noted he has had good assignments at good places. It's been a delight
