Felony assault charges filed
A 20-year-old Andover man faces felony assault charges after punching another man in the face on Tuesday, Oct. 12.
Zachary James Lundstrom, 20, of Andover, who also has an address in New Prague, was arrested on charges of third degree assault inflicting substantial bodily harm for the incident.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim, an employee at the Classic Grille and Bar, reported for work at about 6 p.m and was allegedly confronted outside the building by Lundstrom, with whom he had a past altercation. The report states that Lundstrom punched the victim in the face, knocking out a tooth and lacerating his upper lip.
The victim told police Lundstrom then left the scene. He was later arrested and charged. He posted $1,000 bail. His first court appearance was on October 19, and an omnibus hearing has been set for November 16.
Third degree assault carries a penalty of five years in jail and/or a $10,000 fine.
Other court updates
A jury trial date has been set for Bradley James O'Donoghue, 26, of New Prague, who faces criminal sexual conduct charges for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl at the New Prague Radio Shack in July. The Le Sueur County Attorney's office says a settlement conference will take place on January 11, 2011, and if there is no settlement a jury trial is scheduled to begin on January 24.
O'Donaghue remains free on $3,000 cash bail.
Eric Meger, 20, of Webster, who is charged with an attempted robbery at the New Prague Walgreen's Store on September 18. He has an omnibus hearing scheduled for December 21.
According to the Le Sueur County Attorney's office, he has not posted bail, but has been furloughed to a secured psychiatric treatment program.
