Filing period for city elections starts Aug. 29

The filing period for city elections in New Prague and in Elko New Market will begin Tuesday, Aug. 29, and continue until Tuesday, Sept. 12. Neither city will have a primary election, so all those who file will be on the ballot


New Prague

In New Prague, the terms of Mayor Craig S. Sindelar and council members Kay Wilcox and Rob Babione expire at the end of the year.

The office of mayor has a two-year term. Sindelar was first elected mayor in 2000 and was reelected in 2002 and 2004.
