Fire claims New Prague woman

A house fire northeast of New Prague claimed the life of a 52-year-old rural New Prague woman Sunday, Feb. 28.

Louise Olga Marie America, died in the one-story home at 1466 E 270th St. in Cedar Lake Township.

The New Prague Fire Department was called to the residence at 3:06 a.m. Sunday. When they arrived, they found the house fully engulfed in flames.

Detective Sergeant Bill Nawrocki of the Scott County Sheriff's Office said a passerby reported the fire.
