Fire department assists at barn fire near Prior Lake
The New Prague Fire Department was called out to assist at a fire shortly after 10 p.m. on Monday night, Feb. 27.
New Prague Fire Chief Jim Becker said the call came in from the Prior Lake Fire Department to assist with a barn fire at the Paul Krueger farm near the intersection of Scott County Road 17 and Highway 282. Nine area departments helped bring the blaze under control, but not until after the milking barn and its equipment were destroyed.
There were approximately 110 cows on the farm, all of which were accounted for after the blaze.
Becker said that the last trucks cleared the scene around 1:15 a.m.
