Fire dept. receives $17,700 grant

Third time was the charm for the New Prague Fire Department. The department learned it has received a $17,700 Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Department of Homeland Security.

This was the third time the department had applied for the grant. The majority of the grant, $16,815, is a federal grant.

New Prague firefighters Greg Pint and Phil Werner worked on the grant. Pint explained the remaining $885 will be split evenly between the city and the New Prague Rural Fire Association.
