Firefighters battle grass fire for more than two hours

The New Prague Fire Department battled a grass fire southwest of New Prague for two and-a-half hours on Wednesday, Nov. 1.

Firefighters received a call reporting the fire around 10:55 a.m. According to New Prague Fire Chief Jim Becker, it apparently started in a woodpile at the Craig Westphal farm.
