Fires force two families from their homes

No one was injured, but two New Prague area families were forced from their homes last weekend after a pair of house fires. The New Prague Fire Department fought both blazes, as well as an earlier one Christmas morning.

The department was called to the John Fucile home, 3755 East 250th Street in Cedar Lake Township. at about 9:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26.

Fire Chief Jim Becker said the garage was engulfed when firefighters arrived and the fire had moved on to the attic of the home.
