Fires in Lanesburgh Township destroy garage, shed
The New Prague Fire Department responded to two fires in Lanesburgh Township last week. One fire destroyed a shed, while the other started in a garage and caused damage to a home.
On Wednesday, Jan. 24, the department was called to the Dan and Marilyn Breimhorst home at 1848 Rolling Meadows Circle SE at 4:54 p.m. A car in the garage had started on fire.
The Breimhorsts managed to get another car out of the garage and tried to put out the fire, but had to get out because the fire grew too quickly.
On arriving at the scene, firefighters tried putting out the fire, which was producing a plume of black smoke. Several times the fire looked like it was out, but it kept reigniting.
There must have been a leak in the gas tank that kept reigniting the fire
