Floor hockey team goes 1-2 for the week

New Prague lost two and won one game last week in adapted floor hockey. The Trojans lost to Owatonna and Dakota United, but defeated Hudson, WI.

The Trojans (5-5) are in fourth place in the conference with two games remaining. They host Winona Monday, Mar. 1, then play South Suburban at Bloomington Jefferson Wednesday, Mar. 3.

They will be in a playoff game the week of March 8, with opponent and site to be determined. The winner advances to the state tournament March 19 and 20 at Bloomington Jefferson.

Huskies 6, Trojans 5

New Prague hosted Owatonna in a makeup game Wednesday, Feb. 17, losing 6-5 to the Huskies.

Owatonna led 1-0 after one and 3-1 after two periods. Adam Jeurissen scored the Trojans' first goal, unassisted.

The Trojans caught up, but couldn't overtake the Huskies as they outscored Owatonna 4-3 in the final period. Matthew Schoenbauer and Jeurissen each had two goals, all unassisted.

New Prague had just 11 shot on goal in the first two periods, but had 15 in the third. Owatonna outshot New Prague 57-26, with Marcus Schoenbauer making 51 saves.

It was a fast paced game
