Floor hockey team opens with two wins
After two postponements, the New Prague Adapted Floor Hockey team finally got their season underway Wednesday, Jan. 25, with a 23-2 win over St Paul Humboldt.
The Trojans outshot Humboldt 64-21 for the match, with Brandon Taylor making 19 saves. Matthew Schoenbauer had six goals, Noah Hayden five goals and two assists, Charlie Zelinger five goals and an assist, Stephanie Hayden four goals and an assist, Jacob Malecha two goals and an assist and Cassie Malecha one goal and four assists.
On Monday, Jan. 30, the Trojans defeated South Suburban 13-5.
Schoenbauer and Palma each had five goals, with Schoenbuer adding three assists and Palma one. Jacob Malecha had two goals and Cassie Malecha one, while Charlie Zelinger had three assists.
New Prague outshot the Jets 52-37, with Brandon Taylor making 32 saves.
The Trojans host Winona on Friday, Feb. 3. They host Dakota United Monday, Feb. 6 and play Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville at Lakeville McGuire on Wednesday, Feb. 8
