Floor hockey team tops Humboldt, Winona

The New Prague adapted floor hockey team won two games last week, defeating St. Paul Humboldt and Winona, giving them a 3-2 record on the season. The squad was scheduled to face South Suburban Tuesday, Feb. 3. They are on the road for two more games in the next week, at Owatonna at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, and at Lakeville South, where they face Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, which is a change from the original schedule. The Trojans return home for a 4:30 p.m. game Thursday, Feb. 12, against Hudson, WI.

Trojans 6, Hawks 1

New Prague's Adam Jeurissen scored four goals and Anna Busch added two more as New Prague defeated the Humboldt Hawks 6-1 Tuesday, Jan. 27, in St. Paul.

New Prague coach Shellie Kriha said Trojan goaltender Marcus Schoenbauer had one of his best games in the net, allowing just one goal.

Trojans 7, Winhawks 3

New Prague hosted Winona Thursday, Jan. 29, and took a 7-3 win over the Winhawks.

The Trojans scored three goals in the first period, with Phillip Weber, Jeurissen and Busch getting the tallies. Weber assisted on Jeurissen's goal.

In the second, Busch got a goal on a Weber assist.

New Prague scored three more in the third, with Kayla Doran scoring from Alex Palma and Jeurissen scoring twice, with Palma getting an assist.

Schoenbauer had 50 saves for New Prague. The Trojans outshot Winona 66-53.
