Francis Holtz, 82
Francis Fritz Holtz, 82, of Montgomery, died Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at United Hospital in St. Paul.
Fritz was born in Derrynane Township on November 27, 1926, a son of John and Helen (Miska) Holtz. He attended grade school in New Prague and graduated from Montgomery High School. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1945 and served until 1946. Fritz worked at the Polar Panel Company in Montgomery and at Green Giant/Pillsbury Company in Montgomery. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion Post #79 and VFW Post #5340. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing.
He is survived by a brother John (Genevieve) Holtz, Montgomery; three sisters Agnes Kukacka, Brooklyn Park, Catherine Hanson, St. Peter and Angie Tuma, Montgomery; sisters-in-law MaryAnn Holtz, Montgomery, Joan Holtz, Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Liz Holtz of Sheboygan Falls, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers Michael, Edward, Cyril and Tom Holtz.
Funeral services were held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, April 20.
Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.
Visitation was held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Redeemer Church. Arrangements were with Schoenbauer Funeral Home of Montgomery.
