Friday’s Trojan sports 1-18-13

The New Prague Trojan girls basketball and gymnastics teams won home contests Friday, while the wrestlers lost their
first match of the season and the boys basketball team lost a close one on the road.

Three Trojan seniors combined for 50 of the Trojans 66 points as the girls basketball team (No. 6, Class AAA) defeated
Shakopee 66-52. Annie Dittberner and Lexi Ruehling had 17 each and Steph Hanson added 16.

The gymnastics team (No. 1, Class A) was shorthanded due to illness and injuries, but still scored an impressive
143.55-123.9 win over Red Wing.

Shakopee defeated the Trojan boys basketball team (No. 9, class AAA) 69-59. New Prague was led by Paul Friendshuh
with 19 points and Nick Johnson with 12.

Prior Lake (No. 3, Class AAA) handed New Prague (No. 4, Class AA) its first loss of the season, 34-21. New Prague had
pins from Morgan Parriott (145 pounds) and Richard Reinartz (152). James Berg (126), Cody Sirek (220) and Nathan
Preston (285) also won by decisions.
