Gareis, Busch bring home medals

Two Trojan gymnasts earned their way to the medal stand Friday as the State Class A Gymnastics meet concluded with individual competition.

Senior Alysha Gareis took fourth place with a 9.4 on the uneven bars, while junior Laura Busch placed fifth on the balance beam with a 9.425.

Gareis and Busch also competed on the vault, with Gareis placing 18th with a 9.3 and Busch 28th with an 8.9

Other Trojans competing included junior Jess Hoffman, who placed 14th in the all-around with a 36.6, 17th on the bars with an 8.85 and 15th on the floor with a 9.225. Junior Steph Mach took 23rd on the bars with an 8.6. Junior Brooke Ellanson was 29th and senior Ashley Morris 30th on the beam, scoring 7.7 and 7.675 respectively. Hoffman took 15th and Morris 18th on the floor, with a 9.225 and 9.15 respectively.
