Gary V. Brown, age 81

Gary V. Brown, age 81 of Shakopee passed away peacefully November 12th at the Veterans Home in Luverne, MN, ending his long journey with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Gary was proceeded in death by his parents and infant brother. He is survived by his wife Valerie Brown, sons Bruce, Dan (Joanne), Terry (Julie) and granddaughter Rachel Brown, as well as 4 step children, 9 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren. 

Gary taught Chemistry in Esterville Iowa for 18 years. Gary pioneered a module based approach so that students could progress at their own pace and developed organic chemistry modules for advanced students. Gary moving to Shakopee in 1978 and taught in the New Prague School system until retirement.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be next spring on Friday May 18th @ 1:30 at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, Chaska MN in the Snyder building.
