Generations Theatre Company's run of High School Musical is the theatre production based on the Disney Channel original movie of the same name. Released in 2006, the movie has proved popular with families and young audiences.

Set in Albuquerque, NM, it follows jock Troy Bolton and brainiac Gabriella Montez, two students at East High, who step out of their respective cliques to audition for a musical. The two are up against fraternal twins Sharpay and Ryan Evans, who have had the leads in every production since before high school. Troy and Gabriella face peer pressure from their own and other groups and soon find their actions are dividing the school between those who want the status quo and those who don't.
