Genevieve Stejskal, 91
Genevieve R. Stejskal, 91, of Shakopee, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.
Born August 30, 1918, at Lonsdale, she was a daughter of John and Christina (Valek) Smisek. She married Joseph Stejskal on November 7, 1942, in Seattle, WA, and was a homemaker. Genevieve was a member of St. Mark's Council of Catholic Women and the Shakopee American Legion Post #2 Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by children Joseph Dallas (Lori) Stejskal, St. Paul, Beverly (Michael) Morgan, Auburn, WA, David Stejskal, Appleton, WI, Rebecca (Paul) Gregory, Shakopee and Barbara (James) Hennes, Shakopee; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister Rose Turek, New Prague.
She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant sister; three sisters; and two brothers.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Jan. 5, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Shakopee, with Rev. Timothy Norris officiating.
Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Pallbearers will be Dallas, Brian and Brett Stejskal, Adam Hennes, Rex Welter and Calvin Steele.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m., at the McNearney Funeral Home in Shakopee.
