George Jake Pecholt, 95

George J. Jake Pecholt, 95, of New Prague, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague.

Born April 15, 1915, in New Prague, Jake was a son of Joseph and Josephine (Sauer) Pecholt. A lifelong resident of New Prague, he attended St. Wenceslaus School and New Prague Public Schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II from 1942-1945. Jake worked as a section man/track liner for the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad.
