George Kaderlik, 86

George J. Kaderlik, 86, of McGregor, formerly of Montgomery, died Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.

Born May 8, 1922, in Erin Township, George was a son of John J. and Emma (Koktavy) Kaderlik. He attended country school and owned and operated Kaderlik Well Drilling in Montgomery. George married Mabel Choudek, who preceded him in death. He then married Helen Pexa-Zeman on February 2, 1991 at Holy Family Church in McGregor. He moved from Montgomery to McGregor after his second marriage. He was a member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, the Eagles Club, Polk of A Club and the MN State Water Well Association. George enjoyed music, playing the button accordion, snowmobiling, nature and travelling.

He is survived by his wife; children Chuck (Carol) Kaderlik, Lonsdale, Cindy (Tom) Gilhousen, Montgomery and Sue Richardson, Apple Valley; stepson Roger Zeman, Albert Lea; stepdaughter Therese Walsh, Florida; nine grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and five step-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife; and his parents.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 28, at 10 a.m., at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, with Rev. David Barrett officiating. Members of the 4th Degree and 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus attended in a group.

Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. Pallbearers were Jeff Gilhousen, Adam Richardson, Corey and Nathan Kaderlik, Brian Vosejpka and Michael and Christopher Zeman.

Visitation as held Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery, and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
