Gerald Von Bank, 79
Gerald Von Bank, 79, of Jordan, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at his home in Jordan.
Born in Helena Township (rural Jordan) on October 12, 1926, Gerald was the son of Joseph and Anne (Hennes) Von Bank. He was raised on the family farm and attended the country school in Helena Township. A World War II veteran, he served in Germany with the Army of Occupation and was discharged with the rank of Corporal. He then returned to farming in Helena Township where he remained the rest of his life. For a time he was involved with grain and livestock trucking as well as dairy.
He is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Leonard Neubauer, Jordan; nieces, Bridget Pieper, Veseli, Ann Marie Schiel, Milwaukee; nephews, Kevin Von Bank, Milwaukee, Roger Neubauer, Montgomery; sister-in-law, Dolores Von Bank, Milwaukee; 20 great-nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joseph Von Bank Jr.; sister, Cleopha Neubauer.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan. Rev. Jon Shelley officiated.
Pallbearers were Donald Stocker, Andy Schmitz, Kevin Stevens, Tim Pieper, Dennis Gerold and Peter Welter. Honorary pallbearers were Dan Cahill, Jerry Prior, Virgin Kipp, John Dvorak, Oliver Nichols, Wilbert Bauer, Kevin Von Bank and Ray Pieper.
Interment was in the St. Joe Catholic Cemetery in rural Jordan.
Visitation was on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Wagner Funeral Home in Jordan and on Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the services.
