Getting down to work

Work got underway on the reconstruction of the intersection of Trunk Highway 19 and Scott/Rice County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 86. Dan Jobe of Scott County Public Works explained the work was part of the construction of a roundabout to connect Highway 19, CSAH 86 and Scott County CSAH 23 (Panama Avenue). Friedges Contracting of Lakeville is the contractor for the approximately $8.1 million project. The three-mile stretch of CSAH 86, from CSAH 23 to CSAH 27, closed Monday, July 6, and is scheduled to reopen December 1.
