Girls hockey seeding set

Despite its 4-17-2 record, the New Prague Trojans girls hockey team received the No. 3 seed for the upcoming Section 2A tournament.

New Prague opens the tournament at home on Thursday, Feb. 12, when they host Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato, the No. 6 seed. Game time is 7 p.m.

Mankato West, ranked No. 9 in the state, received the top seed and a first-round bye. Other first-round games have No. 7 Mankato East at No. 2 Hutchinson and No. 5 Le Sueur-Henderson/St. Peter at No. 4 Willmar.

Semifinals are Saturday, Feb. 14, at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter. If they advance, New Prague would play in the 7:30 p.m. game against either Hutchinson or East.

The Trojans are scheduled to close out the regular season Friday, Feb. 6, at Hutchinson. The two teams played to a scoreless tie January 13 in New Prague.
