Girls lose to Belle Plaine in first round of playoffs
The TCU girls basketball team ended their section 2AA play on Tuesday night when with a 46-52 loss against the Belle Plaine Tigers in Belle Plaine.
While the girls lost with by a six-point margin, the game wasn’t always that close. At halftime, Belle Plaine was leading 31-9. However, the Titans did not give up and rallied in the second half to bring the game to within single digits before the clock ran out, making theTigers the winners.
Leading the scoring for the Titans were Megan Steffen and Joslyn Vargo with 9 points each, followed by Edith Martinez with 8, Courtney Hentges with 6, Coley Selly and Sarah Holicky with 4 each, and Alyshia Angileno, Molly Ehlers, and Madie Chadderdon with 2 each.
The Tigers will now face Kenyon Wanamingo who beat Le Sueur Henderson 55-20. They will play at Northfield High School on Friday at 8 p.m.
