Girls take 1st at Annandale

The New Prague Trojan girls track and field team won 11 of 18 events and dominated a three-team Wright County Conference meet at Annandale Tuesday, April 26. The Trojans scored 116 points, well ahead of Annandale, which had 48. Watertown- Mayer was third with 27.

The Trojans were scheduled to compete in a WCC meet at Hutchinson Tuesday, May 3, and will take part in the Orono Invitational Tuesday, May 5. They will compete in the Section 1AAA True Team meet at Lakeville North on Tuesday, May 10.

Annandale Meet Two Trojans won two individual events, with Randi Allar winning the pole vault, clearing 9 feet, and the high jump, with a leap of 4-8.

Delaney McLoone was the fastest girl on the track, winning first in both the 100 and 200 meters. Her time in the 100 was 13.10 seconds, while she ran the 200 in 26.35.

Also placing first for the Trojans were Mikayla Breiner in the triple jump (31-3), Keegan Mulvihill in the 100 hurdles (17.36 seconds), Josie Herrmann in the 400 (1:02.07), Maria Berg in the 800 (2:20.17) and Gianni Solis in the 3,200 (12:50.44).

The Trojans also had two first relay teams - the 4x400 relay team of Mikayla Shimek, Ellie Schmitz, Berg and Tasha Bennett, in 4:26.77 and the 4x800 team of Kate Chromy, McKenzie Holgate, Jenna Lambrecht and Bethany Vacecka in 10:34.32.
