Grace E. Haack, 94

Grace E. Haack, 94, of Prior Lake, died on Monday, Oct. 4, 2004, at her home.

She was born on May 10, 1910, in Minnesota to William and Caroline (Grund) Engen.

Grace was married to Benjamin J. Haack on December 4, 1944. She taught school in Northern Minnesota, was a nanny in Chicago and Minnesota, worked at Union Carbide at Niagara Falls, NY, was employed at a PX during World War II at Santa Rosa, CA. She was the owner and operator of Bower and Haack Microscope Sales and Repair in Minneapolis.

She is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Michael) Lomker, Robbinsdale, Karen (Paul) Kempf, Prior Lake; one brother, Ronald (Marie) Engen, Thief River Falls; two sisters, Myrtle Andeen, Breckenridge, Audrey Freshwater, Clovis, CA; four grandchildren, Elizabeth (Douglas) Rapacz, St. Paul, Katherine (Wade) Yeager, Hugo, Jessica Lynn Kempf, Napa, CA, Chelsie Ann Kempf, Prior Lake; one great-granddaughter, Spohie Grace Rapacz, St. Paul.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin J. Haack on December 25, 1966; by her parents; four brothers and three sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 3 pm. on Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Golden Valley. Rev. Richard Nelson will officiate.

Visitation will be at church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be at Hillside Cemetery in Minneapolis.

A private interment was held on Wednesday, Oct. 6, officiated by Rev. David Scherer.
