Gregor to head Eagle View Elementary

Chuck Kajer, Managing Editor

The New Prague Area School Board has appointed Brad Gregor as interim principal at Eagle View Elementary School.

Gregor, who is currently assistant principal at New Prague Middle School, will lead the K-5 school in Elko New Market for the 2011-12 school year, with the possibility of the position becoming permanent.

Acting superintendent Tom Doig recommended the move during a special meeting following the board workshop on Monday, June 13. He said he held a meeting with staff at Eagle View who expressed a sense of urgency to fill the position, which opened when Mark Randall announced he was leaving in April. Randall took a position in his hometown of Owatonna.

Doig said he spoke with staff members and went over the various options. Staff members said they felt it was important to get someone on board as soon as possible. If the district were to open up for a full search, they might not have a principal in place until early August.

Gregor was a finalist for the job two years ago, when Randall was hired, and staff members who sat in on the interviews at that time said he left a positive impression.

They wanted someone who had experience in discipline
