On the vault, Jamie Niedermayer’s 9.275 took first place, with Hoffman second at 9.225. Bridget Ellanson was fourth at 9.075. Samson scored 8.975 and Meghan Dubanoski had an 8.65.
The Trojan JV scored an impressive 36.65 points. They were led by Hannah Piehl, who had an all-around score of 36.75. Piehl is ineligible for varsity competition as a transfer student. She had team highs on the vault (9.45), bars (9.35), beam (8.8) and floor (9.15).
“We had an excellent beam set, another good floor set, but had some troubles on the bars,” Coach Doug Amundsen said. “The girls are continuing to work on the small things we need work on, and it is really paying off. Scores are consistently high and everyone knows there is still room for improvement. It is building momentum for the end of the season.”
After competing at Farmington Tuesday, Jan. 15, the Trojans have a busy week ahead of them. They host Red Wing Friday, Jan. 18, travel to the Jackson County Central Invitational Saturday, Jan. 19, then travel to Northfield Tuesday, Jan. 22.
