Gymnasts set school record
The New Prague High School gymnastics team set a new school record by scoring 148.2 points in a win over Chaska/Chanhassen Tuesday, Jan. 29.
Coach Doug Amundsen said the score tops the previous high by more than a point.
"Very few words can describe it besides awesome," Amundsen said after the meet. "We hit on all events, only missing one routine all night."
Sarah Hoffman posted team highs on the vault (9.5) and beam (9.425) while Jess Niedermayer showed she has recovered from an ankle injury, leading the way on bars (9.575) and floor (9.475).
The Trojans' next meet is their final home meet of the season, at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, against Farmington.
