Harold Mahowald, 68

Harold (Bill) Mahowald, 68, of Faribault, died Monday, August 3, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.

Harold Louis Mahowald, the son of Frank and Lucille (Wagner) Mahowald, was born on April 21, 1941, in New Market. He was raised in New Market and graduated from New Prague High School with the class of 1959. He married Marilyn Aadsen on September 15, 1973, in Scarville, IA. Bill owned the Gambles store in Farmington for two years prior to working at Happy Harry's Furniture in Farmington for 29 years. Following his retirement in 2003, he enjoyed winters in Texas and spending time with his grandchildren. Bill enjoyed road trips, pontoon rides, being outdoors and visiting with friends. He was an avid Twins fan and enjoyed his garage full of Twins memorabilia.

He is survived by his wife; children, Gerry (Nancy) Mahowald, Faribault, Michelle (Eric) Burright, Eagan, Cheryl (Kent) Skonseng, Savage and David (Karina) Mahowald, Cannon Falls; nine grandchildren, Baily and William (Little Bill) Mahowald, Isaac, Nicholas, and Jack Burright, Sam and Owen Skonseng, Cole and Josephine Mahowald; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Leon Mahowald; and sister, Roselyn Mahowald.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 6, at 11:30 a.m., at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morristown, with Rev. Eugene Chase officiating.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the church.

Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home of Faribault.
