Helen E. Kaufenberg, 95

Helen E. Kaufenberg, 95, of New Market, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, at Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague.

Helen attended New Market Grade School and later married Ralph Kaufenberg on April 18, 1939 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in New Market. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of New Market. She was a member of Christian Mothers and enjoyed traveling, playing cards, cooking, baking and embroidery, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by children, Gwen (Michael) Preston, Burnsville, Sandee (Joe) Simon, Mike (Jan) Kaufenberg and Mary Kay Kvale, all of New Market; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; siblings, Gene Baltes, Bernadette Metz, Vince Baltes, Muriel Anderson, Frank Baltes and Bob Baltes; brother-in-law, Eugene (Dorothy) Kaufenberg; sister-in-law, Marcella Kaufenberg; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and a brother, Maurice Baltes.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 27 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in New Market. Interment was at St. Nicholas Cemetery.

Visitation was held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday prior to the mass at church.

Arrangements were with White Funeral Home in Lakeville.
